Trek pn TV after the 2nd Movie?

Ever since 2009's Star Trek hit the big screen, there's been vague talk about a possible return for Star Trek to the small screen or direct tp DVD. It's rumoured that Roberto Orci who is a writer-producer on the rebooted film series, is indicating that a TV show is slowly inching closer to becoming a reality.

"The relevant parties haven’t sat down in a room together, but they have sent messages through intermediaries," says Orci. "So [we're waiting until] after [the 2013 Star Trek sequel] comes out or as it's ramping up and after the powers that be determine whether or not Star Trek is back or not -- one movie doesn’t make a trend. Two movies starts to indicate that there is a trend and it's viable. It will become more real as the year goes on."

Orci also says that if such a show does happen, it would probably be animated and feature the J.J. Abrams rebooted version of the USS Enterprise crew.

"It is less cannibalizing," he says of an animated show versus live-action. "I would like to see an animated series the most. When I think about it, it is the most different than what we are doing and still … the most in line with it. So I would like to see an animated series."
